Our
smkt•college campus in central Europe is located in historic Lukov, a homely
village on the foot of a mountain. Its beginnings reach centuries deep into
history. Like all smkt•colleges, our Czech campus is located in a small town, so
that participants and students are able to live the true and typical life of the
host country, meeting with people in their natural environment and everyday
situations.
In Lukov participants will live the authentic Czech way of life!
With about 1600 inhabitants, Lukov is a typical Czech mountain village, but it
has a very special spirit and was named the most beautiful village in the Czech
Republic in 1999.
Studying in a summer mansion
The Villa Tuskulum, our college premises, is a historic summer mansion built for a countess surrounded by a beautiful park with indoor (pool) and outdoor (tennis) sporting facilities. The seminars are held in the prestigious wine cellar and both library and computer lab are within the manor. Our smkt•studies students are housed with host families in the village and the smkt•seminar participants reside in the Tuskulm Hotel on campus.
Small means beautiful - at least here
Apart from a beautiful church that recently celebrated 200 years, Lukov has a lot to offer to its visitors such as a 300 year old brewery with an original baroque chimney, small and medium sized companies and shops and an important agricultural cooperative, that undertakes the whole spectrum of production - agricultural production and animal breeding, repair activities, machinery-building and printing. A very vivid and open-minded population offers a yearly calendar of local cultural and social events.
The area around
Lukov, the industrial city of Zlin, home town of Thomas Bata and the picturesque landscape offers a wide range of cultural and historic sites. Lukov is an experience that no one should miss! Come and find out!
